Pays de Retz flooded, trains canceled… The Kirk depression waters the Loire-Atlantique

South of Nantes, in Brains, the marshes along the road are full to bursting. In Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau, in the village (rue du Landas), municipal agents with their feet in the water are trying to evacuate the water…. In vain.

Since the start of the weather episode, firefighters have carried out around thirty interventions in around twenty municipalities in the department. Contacted this Wednesday morning, meteorologist Steven Tual predicted “points at 100 mm”, either “the equivalent of a month of rain in the space of twelve to twenty-four hours”.
