Météo- placed 20 departments on orange alert for rain-flooding this Wednesday, October 9. 19 other departments are also on yellow alert.

Stormy rains will continue to affect a large part of our territory. Météo-France has placed 20 departments on orange rain-flood vigilance for the day of Wednesday October 9.

The Ardennes, Aube, Eure-et-Loir, Indre-et-, Loir-et-Cher, Loire-Atlantique, , Maine-et-Loire, , , , Seine-et-Marne, , Deux-Sèvres, Vendée, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d ‘Oise are the departments concerned.

19 departments on yellow alert

At the same time, 19 departments were placed on yellow rain-flood vigilance. Are concerned: Aisne, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Charente-Maritime, Cher, Ille-et-Vilaine, Indre, Haute-Marne , Mayenne, Meurthe-et-, Meuse, Morbihan, Moselle, Nièvre, Oise, Orne, and Yonne.

“Continuous and sustained rains will affect the regions extending from Vendée and the Pays de Loire to the Paris region. The accumulations over the whole day will be very high, they could reach 40 to 60 mm in the Paris Basin and 60 to 80 mm, or even locally 90 mm heading towards the Pays de Loire and Vendée. These are quantities that usually fall within a month,” we can read on the Météo-France website.
