A major emergency system was initiated on Monday October 7, 2024 in Loiret, following a violent accident on the A10 motorway. The tragedy occurred at the beginning of the afternoon in the direction of Paris, near the town of Ingré, reports France 3 Centre-Val-de-Loire . Two people aged 81 and 82 lost their lives, and three other minor injuries were recorded.
According to The Central Republic et France Blue Orléans the octogenarians were in a first vehicle which left the road. The car ended up on its roof after hitting the guardrail and damaging the emergency lane. The two occupants were already dead when emergency services arrived on site.

An accident followed, involving three other vehicles. A 48-year-old man, another 25-year-old and an eight-month-old baby were treated by firefighters.
Around forty firefighters, with 13 vehicles, Samu teams and agents from Vinci Autoroutes were mobilized for several hours. Traffic was heavily impacted until the early evening. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the gendarmes of the Orléans highway platoon to determine the causes of the accident.
