Jordi Alba: “When we won, I told Messi that he had kept his promise, but he told me…”

Inter Miami player Jordi Alba has confided in his teammate Lionel Messi.

On Wednesday October 2, 2024, thanks to a double from Lionel Messi and a goal from Luis Suarez, Inter Miami won a prestigious victory on the field of the reigning champion, the Columbus Crew (3-2), thus ensuring the first place in MLS at the end of the regular season.

Interviewed after this victory, Jordi Alba explained the impact of Lionel Messi on his choice to join Inter Miami.

We don’t have a big team to win, but at the same time I say to myself: we have Messi and Tata, that’s enough. Messi was determined to win the title.
