Morocco rally-raid: death of a French motorcyclist after a fall

French biker Frédéric Baudry, who competed in the Morocco rally-raid, died Monday following a fall in the dunes, the organization announced on the social network Instagram in the evening.

The French driver, who “participated for the second time in the race, fell in the dunes at kilometer 97”, specifies a brief press release from the organization.

“He was quickly taken care of by doctors in a medical helicopter who transported him to Zagora hospital where he unfortunately died at 4:45 p.m.,” we added.

The Morocco rally-raid began on Sunday with a 25 km prologue. The first stage saw the car victory of Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah at the wheel of a Dacia Sandrider. Sébastien Loeb, not successful, had to settle for 12th place and was 12 min 47 behind the winner of the day.
