Commune of Bouguenais, rue Salvador Allende, LIDL store at 1:42 p.m.; this Monday, October 7, 2024. The firefighters intervened for a smell of gas inside the sales area of the Lidl store in Bouguenais, a town located west of Nantes.
When taking call 18/112, the CTA/CODIS operator of SDIS44 provided the first advice to the store director in order to ensure the evacuation of the public. Thus, 50 customers and staff of the establishment were evacuated before our arrival on the scene.
The emergency services set up a security perimeter and established a protective nozzle.
The operation required the confinement of a high school, a middle school and a primary school; a guided outing of students was coordinated at the end of the afternoon.
GRDF located the leak on an external pipe, which was purged using a flare.
Resources involved: 2 fire engines, 1 all-purpose vehicle, 2 group leaders, 1 ambulance, 1 column leader, i.e. 24 firefighters.
Other services: GDRF, National Gendarmerie, Permanent Representative, Municipal Police were also on site.
