En Spain, police arrested a 57-year-old Belgian for attempted murder. Neighbors alerted the police after witnessing a strange scene. A man was lying on the ground, bleeding to death, while his attacker quietly smoked a cigarette. “I was waiting for him to die,” he explained, local media reported.
The incident happened on Sunday around 6:30 p.m. on Avenida Portugal in Valencia. The victim, a 52-year-old Argentinian, received three stab wounds, including two to the neck. Neighbors saw the victim bleeding near the entrance to the building.
A few meters away, his alleged attacker was sitting on a bench, calmly smoking a cigarette. Hearing the sirens, the man ran into his apartment to hide. However, when he was arrested by the police, he offered no resistance and even handed over the weapon with which he had stabbed his roommate.
The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital. On the way, she suffered a cardiac arrest, but still survived.
