“It seems that you are dead”: Jean-Paul Rouve, very moved, pays tribute to his friend Michel Blanc (VIDEO)

The world of cinema is in mourning after the sudden death of Michel Blanc at the age of 72. Jean-Paul Rouve, upset, paid tribute to him in the show “It’s the weekly” this Saturday, October 5.

A friendship born on a film set

It was with eyes red with emotion that Jean-Paul Rouve spoke about the loss of his friend Michel Blanc. “I want to call him now and say: ‘It seems that you are dead, what is happening?’“, confided the Tuche actor, visibly upset. Their friendship began in 2014, during the filming of the film “The Memories”. “I didn’t know him before (…) I offered him the main role and he said yes straight away”, remembers Jean-Paul Rouve.

Memorable phone conversations

The actor shared touching memories of their relationship: “We talked on the phone a lot. He made me laugh a lot because he knew how to make fun of himself, he played it up a lot. His hypochondriac side, all that…” Jean-Paul Rouve fondly recalls these calls which often lasted an hour, during which Michel Blanc “made digressions, he told you about his life…” A complicity that shines through in each of his words: “I laughed a lot with him. He’s a huge actor, a great director. And then it’s weird, really.”

The sudden disappearance of Michel Blanc

Michel Blanc died on the night of Thursday October 3 to Friday October 4, following an anaphylactic shock which occurred during a medical examination. According to Gérard Jugnot, who spoke to RTL: “I was told that he had a huge allergy, an anaphylactic shock to a medication.” Despite the efforts of doctors at Saint-Antoine hospital to save him, the actor died after six cardiac arrests, alongside his partner Ramatoulaye Diop.

The disappearance of the unforgettable Jean-Claude Dusse from “Bronzés” sparked a wave of emotion in the cinema world. The Splendid troupe, of which he was a member, expressed its “tremendous pain” in a joint press release. President Emmanuel Macron also paid tribute to the one who “made us cry with laughter and moved us to tears.”

Michel Blanc, who long felt trapped in his role as Jean-Claude Dusse, was an outstanding dialogue writer, according to Jean-Paul Ruve. This is evidenced by the many cult replicas that he leaves to his bereaved fans. And to pay tribute to him, TF1 is broadcasting the film “Les Bronzés” this evening.
