the 14-year-old suspect was recruited “for 50,000 euros” on social networks

The 14-year-old teenager, suspected of having been recruited as a hitman as part of a settling of scores against a backdrop of drug trafficking, and who killed a VTC driver unrelated to his contract, was recruited for 50,000 euros .

As part of the investigation into the shooting of a VTC driver this Friday, October 4 in , the suspect, aged 14, is suspected of having been recruited as a hitman to carry out an assassination on another person, as part of “revenge” linked to drug trafficking.

He was “asked to execute this contract for a sum of €50,000”, announced the Marseille public prosecutor Nicolas Bessone this Sunday October 6 during a press conference.

Conflict between the teenager and the VTC driver

During the latter, the prosecutor specified that the teenager was from and that a car linked to the instigator of the assassination, a 23-year-old man detained in Aix-Luynes prison, had come on search to take him to a hotel in Marseille where he was joined by another individual.

It was from this room that the VTC in which the two men rushed towards the Félix Pyat city was allegedly ordered, where “they thought they could find their victim”, according to the prosecutor.

Arriving near the city, the VTC passengers then thought they recognized their victim on the public highway and “asked the driver (…) to drop them off, to wait for them since they had something to do”, specifies -he again.

Faced with this request, the driver “does not comply and the 14-year-old minor takes out his 357 Magnum (a revolver, Editor’s note), which he had on his belt and shoots him fatally in the back of the head.” Nicolas Bessone further indicated.

After firing, the teenager fled before hiding and calling the person who ordered the assassination, who was following the operations from his cell, “to ask him to send a car to exfiltrate him.” Rather than helping him and “for a reason that will have to be determined precisely”, the 23-year-old man dialed 17 to report the teenager to the police, leading to his arrest.
