remove the Descrozaille law to lower prices directly on the shelves!

Purchasing power: what went through the minds of certain politicians when they voted to limit promotions on hygiene, health and beauty products?

Incredible… Failing to support us to limit inflation on consumer products (+22% over 3 years ????), they allowed themselves to be convinced by one of the most powerful multinational lobbies.

Let’s ask ourselves this question: who had an interest in limiting promotions on Ajax, Pampers, Always, Skip; Elnett hairspray or Gillette shaving foam? I cite these brands just for example, it concerns thousands of products.

The reaction of consumers was not long in coming: the drop in sales ranged from 10 to 16%. You shouldn’t take customers for idiots! ????

So what was the urgency to mobilize Parliament to play into the hands of Unilever, Procter&Gamble, L’Oréal and others? I have nothing against these big brands. I buy them myself… I really didn’t understand why we wanted to force distributors to sell them more expensively. This will not help our farmers or our French SMEs. Most of these firms do not pay tax in and have their headquarters abroad.

Since Michel Barnier wants to help purchasing power without costing the state budget, I propose that we remove this Descrozaille law which is inflationary.

I go even further: rather than saying that we are going to tax the excess profits of these companies (it’s too late…), I propose that Antoine Armand, the new Minister of the Economy, and Laurence Garnier, the Secretary of State for Consumer Affairs, brings them together and negotiates with them “sounding” price reductions. ☝️ E.Leclerc centers are committed to passing all this on so that it benefits consumers.

It is consumption that is currently driving the growth of the French economy. We must follow this path rather than by multiplying checks or aid, even if targeted. To paraphrase the L’Oréal ad: “French consumers are worth it”!
