Beaten Monday evening at Guingamp (3-1), SM Caen had to react at home and seek a third success in a row at Ornano. Only one serious candidate for a comeback stands against the Rouge et Bleu, FC Lorient. And the Bretons quickly made it clear to the Normans that they intended to take the match and the three pts to their own. From the 3rd minute, Anthony Mandréa had to work to win a first duel against Soumano and one of his defenders blocked a strike in the following minute from Kroupi. Romain Thomas with a tackle prevented Kroupi from pushing the Caen goalkeeper into a duel again (10th). And if Malherbe opened the scoring on his first opportunity through Tidiam Gomis (18th), it was more due to effective technical work from his attacker on a long ball from Traoré than a construction of play.
