This Oscar-winning film can be (re)watched on Netflix

Unveiled in cinemas in the summer of 2022 and crowned, among others, Best Film of the Year at the 2023 edition of the Oscars, Everything Everywhere All At Once is a unique film of its kind, brilliantly mixing comedy, drama, science fiction, without forgetting a touch of philosophy. Did you miss the masterpiece worn by the essential Michelle Yeoh? Don’t panic, the film by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert can be found now on Netflix.

It is undoubtedly one of the most notable films of 2023. Landing in theaters in 2022, Everything Everywhere All At Once is the most nominated and, above all, the most awarded film of the 95th Academy Awards, garnering a total of 7 awards including Best Film, ahead of, among others, Avatar: The Way of Water, Top Gun : Maverick or even The Fabelmans. While until now it was only available on VOD, the science fiction comedy by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert can now be (re)watched on Netflix.

The most awarded film of all time is on Netflix

The film starring Michelle Yeoh not only stood out at the 2023 Oscars. Amassing various awards attesting to its titanic international success, Everything Everywhere All At Once has a total of 158 awards, thus assuming the status of the most awarded film of all time. In comparison, and as explained by our colleagues fromAlloCinéthe feature film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has ”only” 101 awards.

Described as a science fiction comedy-drama, the film immediately stood out for its unique and technical production, the accuracy of its actors and its deep philosophical reflections, with several currents of philosophy that specialists were able to identify: nihilism, the absurd and (above all) existentialism.

The feature film invites us to follow the life and daily life of Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh), a Chinese-American entrepreneur from the first generations of immigrants. With her husband Waymond (Ke Huy Quan), our heroine is at the head of a laundry which has been running out of steam for many years. Riddled with debt, overwhelmed by daily pressure and suffering from a lack of communication with her family, everything changes for Evelyn when she discovers the existence of other parallel universes – the famous multiverse. It’s a decidedly offbeat science fiction comedy that awaits the viewer, invited to discover different versions of Evelyn: Evelyn-chef, Evelyn-star, Evelyn-kung-fu and even Evelyn-sausage, with shaped fingers of… sausages.

Crossing different universes and even finding new versions of her family members, Evelyn is not at the end of her troubles and will have to face many enemies. Great fight sequences await us, with Michelle Yeoh at the top of her game…

Note that in addition to Michelle Yeoh, the feature film is filled with an XXL cast: Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., and even Tallie Medel are the part.
