The FSE-CSQ marks the 30th World Teachers’ Day

On the occasion of the 30e edition of World Teachers’ Day, celebrated on October 5 each year, the Federation of Education Unions (FSE-CSQ) would like to thank teaching staff for their invaluable contribution to education in Quebec.

“Whether in the youth sector, vocational training or adult education, teachers inspire the greatest successes throughout the Quebec school network,” declared Richard Bergevin, president of the FSE-CSQ, press release. Every day, they demonstrate professionalism, passion and commitment to their students. We see it more than ever, they are simply essential.

In 2024, World Teachers’ Day will take place under the theme Valuing the voices of teachers: towards a new social contract for education, “which fully corresponds to the aspirations of Quebec teaching staff” according to the FSE-CSQ.

She also believes that “to better promote teachers, the government must hear their voice, and not only during negotiations, since not all solutions to the network’s issues necessarily go this way.”

“We are working to bring the voice of teachers to all platforms with the aim of obtaining the necessary changes to give them more breathing space and allow them to do what they really want to do, that is to say teach the students in front of them, in schools and centers,” added Mr. Bergevin.
