This is sad news that has France in turmoil. Michel Blanc died at the age of 72, his press secretary announced to the media. Although he was in good health and no illness was known to him, Michel Blanc suffered a heart attack at his home, located in Paris, during the night from Thursday to Friday. Despite rapid intervention by emergency services who took him to hospital, the actor did not survive.

Ultra-popular actor, Michel Blanc revealed himself to the general public in the 1970s with the legendary Splendid troupe. Alongside Thierry Lhermitte, Josiane Balasko, Gérard Jugnot, Marie-Anne Chazel and Christian Clavier, he had participated in several cinema successes, notably with films like The Bronzed, Santa Claus is trash or even Grandpa resists. During his long career, Michel Blanc has not only confined himself to comedic roles. Thus, in 2012, he won the César for best supporting actor for his performance in State Exercisewhere he played the chief of staff of a minister. The Splendid’s tribute to Michel Blanc
On Instagram, Gérard Jugnot, a lifelong friend of Michel Blanc, expressed his emotion following the death of his friend: “Damn Michel… What have you done to us…” He then added to the microphone of RTL : “It’s a massive blow. He was the French Woody Allen, he had an absolutely brilliant sense of dialogue.“The two men had met”in 4th grade during a German class“and are”more let go“. Josiane Balasko also paid tribute to the memory of Michel Blanc on the social network by writing in the caption of a photo: “Michel, my friend, my brother, my partner.“
