Doping: Paul Pogba back faster than expected!

Suspended four years for doping, Paul Pogba could benefit from a reduced sentence from the CAS and play again this season.

Still under contract with Juventus Turin, Paul Pogba is also still suspended for doping and therefore has the minimum salary of a professional Serie A player. The French midfielder has been deprived of football for more than a year, since his last match dates back to September 3, 2023. Since then, a positive test for testosterone has prevented him from playing football, since he had ingested prohibited products recommended by his nutritionist without the advice of Juventus and was therefore caught by the patrol . The 2018 world champion with the French team has since taken all possible steps to appeal his four-year suspension, and his appearance before the Court of Arbitration for Sport is favorable to him, which changes the situation.

The Daily Mail said this Friday evening that his ban from football was reduced from four years to 18 months by the CAS. If this judgment were to be made official and not contested, then Paul Pogba would have the possibility of resuming training with his club from the month of January, and returning to the field for competitions officially from the month of March. The English newspaper also affirms that his fine has been reduced, a sign that if the doping is not questionable from a scientific point of view, the good faith of the player has also been retained, he who assures not to have taken specific products to increase performance or recovery.

At 31, the midfielder who has only been between Manchester and Juventus in his professional career, could thus be offered a real chance to relaunch his career. This even if it is not at all certain that the demanding Thiago Motta is counting on him for the rest of the season.
