Described as “the Woody Allen of French cinema” by his lifelong friend Gérard Jugnot, Michel Blanc died at the age of 72 on the night of Thursday to Friday, sparking a torrent of reactions. The eternal Jean-Claude Dusse in “Bronzés” died following a cardiac arrest.
The actor, who saw himself as an “anxious clown”, suffered a heart attack in the evening and was transported to a Parisian hospital where he died, his entourage told AFP, confirming information from “Paris Match”.
According to information disclosed by “BFM TV”, this discomfort occurred following a rare allergic reaction, called anaphylactic shock, due to taking a medication administered during a medical examination.
“This phenomenon, linked to an allergic reaction, results in rapid swelling of the face and respiratory tract, which leads to respiratory distress, then cardiac arrest,” specifies the news channel.
A contrast substance (product which allows the organs to be highlighted during a CT scan, an MRI or an ultrasound) would have caused this strong allergy on Thursday afternoon. The 72-year-old actor then suddenly collapsed in front of his doctor. Unfortunately, when the rescuers arrived on site, Michel Blanc was already in cardiac arrest. He took his last breath in the hospital around 11 p.m.
