The bodies of a woman and a man were discovered with gunshot wounds “to the head” yesterday evening in an apartment in a village in Isère, we learned on Friday from firefighters and gendarmes.
The two victims were found around 11:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of a building in Crêts-en-Belledonne, a small town located between Grenoble and Chambéry (Savoie), after neighbors were alerted, firefighters said, confirming information from France Blue.
The woman was 26 years old and the man, her former partner, was 34 years old, according to the gendarmerie who are not “favoring any hypothesis” at this stage.
No weapon has been found at the scene yet, the same source added. The woman’s grandmother, aged 98 according to media reports, was also in the apartment but was not injured. She was taken care of by the firefighters and transported to the Grenoble hospital center, they added.
An investigation was opened by the Grenoble public prosecutor’s office for “homicides”, according to the gendarmes. The prosecution did not immediately confirm.
