Explosion in an apartment in : forty people evacuated from a building

A small explosion due to gas in an apartment in the Saint-Siméon district, in , led to the evacuation of around forty residents on the night of Thursday October 3 to Friday October 4, 2024. There was no hurt.

An explosion occurred in an apartment on the fifth floor of a building located at 7 allée Heurtebise, in Zac Saint-Siméon in Auxerre, on the evening of Thursday October 3, 2024.

No injuries

Around 12:15 a.m., the Yonne firefighters were initially called to a fire. But on site, they mainly noticed a strong smell of gas and saw smoke, but no fire.

In total, 41 people were temporarily evacuated by the national police while the emergency services intervened. Four of them were treated after being bothered by the fumes. There were no injuries. Enedis and GRDF agents decommissioned the apartment where the explosion occurred.
