Emergency services were called around 4 a.m. for a traffic accident, a car crashing into the wall of an elementary school. Inside, they found a man with a wound to the back of his head.
According to several police sources, the man was shot and killed. A holster for a 9 mm caliber was found in the car, according to one of these sources.
About an hour later, a call informed the police where to find the suspect in this homicide and he was arrested and taken into custody.
According to a police source, the call came from an inmate claiming that Friday’s homicide was committed in retaliation for the murder of a minor that occurred on Wednesday.
A charred body was discovered during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Marseille, possibly the victim of a “narchomicide”, a homicide linked to drug trafficking, in the same 3rd arrondissement.
According to a police source, the victim of this previous homicide was a man who had a gunshot wound to the chest. According to a testimony reported by the same source, the body was left in the street by a group of half a dozen hooded people who then doused it with gasoline and set it on fire.
Due to Friday’s homicide and the police investigation, the nearby middle school and school will remain closed.
Marseille is regularly the scene of “narchomicides”, with a record level of 49 deaths in 2023.
