French cinema in mourning: Michel Blanc, memorable actor of “Bronzés”, has died

One of the faces of the Splendid troupe died in hospital, the actor’s family confirms. For the moment, no details on the cause of death have been released.

A “Bronzé” like no other

Star actor of the 80s, Michel Blanc revealed himself in the previous decade with these companions of the Splendid troupe. It was in 1978 that the actor’s career changed thanks to the great comedy, still cult to this day, “The Bronzed”.

In the years following the success of the first “Tanned”, two other comedies will see the troupe and Michel Blanc on screen. The legendary sequel “Les Bronzés sont du ski” as well as “Le Père Noël est une ordure” will see the actor shine in the cinema.

The actor continued his career in the 80s, mainly in comedy and for the first time, in 1984, Michel Blanc tried his hand at directing. Thanks to his dialogues, his film became the biggest success of the year at the cinema with 6.1 million spectators. He will also be the first to leave the Splendid troupe.
