Town Hall prepares the city

This vigilance is identical to that of Monday September 23, 2024, without specific alert and with a risk of runoff announced at this time by forecasters as low.

Given the expected precipitation and the latest climatic episode, Town Hall is adapting its vigilance and inviting Cannes residents to exercise the greatest caution in their travels.

As of this morning, at the request of David Lisnard, the services of Cannes Town Hall and the Cannes Lérins Agglomeration have anticipated actions to prevent the risk of flooding and runoff. Thus, the edges of the roads, drains and evacuation grilles as well as the hydraulic structures were checked and cleaned. Particular vigilance was paid to the state and level of watercourses.

As a safety and anticipation measure, Cannes Town Hall has initiated the following actions:

  • municipal agents carried out door-to-door visits to traders and residents in the République and rue de Cannes sectors to inform them and advise them to install their cofferdams preventively;
  • cofferdams were also positioned on sensitive municipal and intercommunal equipment;
  • in risk areas, municipal anti-flood pumps have been pre-positioned.

All municipal and intercommunal services are mobilized to protect and alert Cannes residents in real time, particularly on the City’s social networks.

By decision of David Lisnard, the municipal watch command post will be activated this night to monitor the evolution of the situation and adapt the devices in the event of sudden deterioration.
