Airbus likes to mark special occasions with a formation flight of its aircraft in the skies of . For the group’s 50th anniversary in 2019, the different divisions of the aircraft manufacturer organized impressive air parades: helicopters, military aircraft, civil aircraft, etc.

Last Sunday, September 15, on the occasion of Family Days, an internal festival organized by Airbus in Toulouse for its employees and their families (the last operation of this type dated from… 2010, for the 40th anniversary of the group), a new formation flight of the company’s emblematic aircraft was organized. This previously unpublished family photo included an ATR72 (produced by the joint venture of Airbus and Leonardo ATR), a BelugaXL (used by Airbus to transport its very large aircraft parts from one site to another), an A321LR, an A321XLR, an A330neo and two A350s.

This is not the only entertainment offered to festival-goers. Visits to industrial sites, fun activities (such as a paper airplane flying competition), friendly meals (with around fifty food trucks) punctuated the day, which was attended by more than 80,000 people, according to 3!


Enough to strengthen the cohesion of the troops, while Airbus has hired massively in recent years and the aircraft manufacturer is having difficulty increasing its production rates. Not sure, however, that the operation will be repeated every year: the aircraft manufacturer decided this summer to scrutinize all expenses, with an operational efficiency plan called “Lead!”. Maybe the fun is over…
