Since this Thursday, October 3, 6 a.m., Southern Corsica has been placed on orange “rain-flood” alert by Météo France services.

“The early morning is rainy, forecasters say. This is quite heavy rain, sometimes stormy, of around 50 to 70 mm locally.”

The orange alert is effective until 1 p.m. in Pumonti, also placed in yellow for the “thunderstorms” parameter.

Concerning Haute-Corse, it has also been placed on yellow alert for the same parameters.

The day begins under a heavy sky, specifies Météo France. At the beginning of the afternoon, the precipitation stops, and large clearings develop.

Across the island, the yellow alert is active until 4 p.m. this afternoon at the earliest.

The prefecture calls on the population to be extremely vigilant and reiterates the precautionary instructions:

  • Respect the diversions put in place.
  • Do not take shelter under trees.
  • Respect the instructions given by the security services.
