On Wednesday November 13, 2024, you will have to be quick to hope to obtain an entry to the 24 Hours 2025. The two previous years, the ticket office had been stormed from the opening and tickets for the race had sold out at great speed v.

More than a month before the opening of the ticket office for the general public, the prices announced for the 93rd edition have fans of the race coughing. Prices are rising faster than my salary laments Tim. In fourteen editions in a row, this is the first time that I have thought: can I really afford it? writes an Internet user.

Have prices increased that much in recent years? Maine Libre takes stock.

+ Favorite monument of the French. What impact are expected for the 24 Hours of circuit?

What are the prices charged for the 2025 edition?

To attend the race weekend in 2025, with the full price, you will have to pay €106, while to access the circuit all week from Sunday June 8 to Sunday June 15, 2025 (Test day, practice and race), it is will cost €118.

Access on Wednesday and Thursday for the trials is charged at €46 and €55 respectively (€69 for the two trial days). The cheapest ticket remains that for the Test Day. It amounts to €32. The one which gives access to the race week and the paddock-gridwalk, on the other hand, goes up to €835. Reduced rates are available for ACO members, under 25s, people with reduced mobility, etc.

What drives up the bill the most? Grandstand access for the race weekend. For grandstand access, you will have to pay €232 for category 2 and €293 for category 1.

Please note that access to the stands is free for children under 8 years old born after June 15, 2017, accompanied by an adult with an entry ticket and seated on the adult’s lap.

How much will the reception areas and parking lots cost?

To pitch your tent in the Houx, Houx annex and Épinettes reception areas, classified category 1, you will have to pay €180 for your pitch in addition to the ticket. In category 2 (Hippodrome and Prairie) and category 3 (Hippodrome, Beauséjour, Clos fleur, Arnage and Mulsanne), it is a little cheaper. The prices are respectively set at €97 and €92.

For parking, the weekly rate is €60 and three days (June 13 to 15) €48.

What were the prices in previous years?

To measure the increase in prices in recent years, let’s take the price of the “weekly entry” ticket. In 2025, it will therefore be priced at €118. In 2022, the same ticket was priced at just €89. An increase of €29 in three editions.

It was for the centenary edition that the biggest increase in recent years occurred. We then had to pay an additional €13 to attend the anniversary of the legendary race (€102). An additional financial effort which did not dissuade spectators from attending the event: the race was sold out and 325,000 people attended the circuit during the week to celebrate the anniversary of the 24 Hours Le Mans. In 2024, a year marked by the return of many manufacturers to hypercars, repeat. New increase of €13 to reach €115 and… new attendance record with 329,000 spectators. For 2025, the increase will be less with only €3 more for the “week entry” ticket.

Going back a little further in time, we see that in 2008, the same ticket cost €62. This represents an increase of 90% in 16 years!

However, it is in the reception areas that the increase is causing Internet users to choke the most. The Houx and Epinettes campsites, billed at €125, increase to €180 in 2025. Even more striking: the Houx annex at €88 recorded an increase of 104%, being priced this year at €180. I was thinking of taking a look at the campsites for next year, finally I am staying with locals says Florent on Facebook.

Continuing increases which worry historical spectators of the event. I can understand that the ACO increases the prices especially since the success is still there recognizes Jérôme, a Le Mans fan of the 24 Hours. My fear is that if prices increase too much, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will lose the popular side that made them legendary. .

Are the 24 Hours of Le Mans really that expensive for spectators?

But in the end, despite the increase, can the 24 Hours of Le Mans be described as dear ? Not sure, if we compare the €118 for the race week to other events. To attend a day of the round of 16 at Roland Garros on the Suzanne-Lenglen course, you must pay €100.

In Imola for the F1 Grand Prix, access to the stands for three days starts at €505. Far from the €293 of the stands at the circuit…

Attending Mylène Farmer’s concert at the Stade de in category 1 also costs more: tickets were sold for €135. The same price as for the Beyonce concert in February 2023.

In the region, another event also brings together hundreds of thousands of visitors (240,000 in 2024): Hellfest. And this despite very high prices: €339 for the 4-day pass, including entry, camping and parking. Tickets that sold out in less than an hour.

Enough to make Jérôme philosophical. If we reduce the price of the ticket for the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the duration of the event and everything that is offered in addition to the race such as the concerts, it does not cost that much. .
