Donald Trump in power, the situation has already arisen between 2017 and 2021. During this time, the New Yorker started a trade war with China, he pulled the United States out of the agreement on atomic energy with Iran, recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, denounced the Climate Accord and Washington’s membership in the World Health Organization – among other things.

Switzerland, Foraus believes, has been negatively affected by the destabilization of the multilateral order and the non-compliance with international law. While economically speaking it rather took advantage of the period, notably thinking of being able to conclude a free trade agreement with Washington, which however never materialized. What if he came back in 2025? Here are the repercussions expected by Foraus, a Swiss think tank specializing in foreign policy issues.
