Corsica-du-Sud placed on orange rain and flood alert this Thursday, October 3

Initially placed on yellow alert, Southern Corsica is now on orange rain and flood alert from this Thursday, October 3 at 5 a.m. She will stay there all morning, until around 1 p.m. “An active rain-storm disturbance rises from the Balearic Islands on Thursday morning over a large southern half of Corsica. The rainy intensities and accumulations expected during the episode will be significant”warns Météo . The town hall also warned its residents by SMS, advising them to keep themselves informed before any trip.

These rainstorms coming from the Balearic Islands will also affect Upper Corsica, placed on yellow alert from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. The expected accumulations across the entire island will be 30 to 50 mm widespread. On a large southern half of the island, including coastal areas, they could reach 60 to 90 mm, very occasionally a little more.

In the middle of the afternoon, the clouds should evacuate towards Italy, but new stormy showers, less active, will arrive in the evening, mainly affecting the north of the island.
