World: the price of a barrel of oil increased by 2.91% in mid-September 2024

The price of a barrel of oil, an export product of the Democratic Republic of Congo, increased by 2.91% and traded at 74.52 USD on the market on a weekly basis, the week of 13 to 20 September 2024.

“The price of a barrel of oil recorded an increase of 2.91% on the international market, trading at 74.52 US dollars per barrel compared to the previous period,” explains the economic report from the Central Bank of Congo. (BCC).

During the week of September 6 to 13, 2024, indicates the source, several fluctuations were observed on the raw materials market, also causing a slight drop of 0.92%, the barrel having reached 72.41 USD, thus showing a decrease of 7 .87% compared to December 2023.

According to the BCC, the price of copper increased by 3.40%, per tonne standing at USD 9556.00, an increase of 12.02% since the end of the previous year.

The price of cobalt, for its part, recorded a slight weekly increase of 0.15%, settling at USD 23,792.00 per tonne, marking a fall of 27.35% compared to December 2023.

Regarding wheat and corn, prices recorded a decline of 1.93% and 0.66% respectively, with the two products trading at USD 209.60 and USD 149.60 per tonne and rice at USD 341.61. per tonne, an increase of 1.84%.
