A fire and “big black smoke” at the Papilles workshop, in the Ther de ZAC

Since 9 a.m. this Wednesday, October 2, a large deployment of firefighters and police officers has been mobilized in the ZAC de Ther in , at the Atelier Papilles bakery.

“There was a lot of black smoke! » At around 9 a.m. this Wednesday, October 2, a fire broke out in one of the ovens of the Atelier Papilles bakery, in the ZAC of Ther de Beauvais (Oise). The fire apparently started from a circuit breaker. The firefighters were therefore dispatched to the site in large numbers with no less than six vehicles, including the articulated lifting arm.

“I felt heat near the ovens and I saw the flames,” one of the bakers then tells us. He therefore tried to put out the fire with the fire extinguisher but the electrical circuits were still too hot.

In view of the significant release of smoke, the team of the Papilles workshop (nine present this Wednesday morning) decided to evacuate staff in the laboratory and customers from the store: « We would like to thank the firefighters who arrived very quickly! » GRDF is also present as a precaution and fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The team is ready to get back to work “as soon as possible”

During this time, firefighters evacuated the burned parts such as pipes for example. Among the staff, who closely follow the slightest actions of the emergency services, we assured ourselves of being « all ready to welcome customers as soon as we are given permission to resume work.”

It was now time to clean up and see the extent of the damage. The firefighters are still on site at 10 a.m. but the end of the intervention is approaching.

During the intervention, traffic was blocked by the national police with the municipal police who arrived as reinforcements on rue du Docteur-Delie, between Auchan and Carrefour in the commercial area (© Hugo Sergeant – L’Obs de Bvs) .
