Kat Kerkhofs and Dries Mertens would like a second child: “It certainly won’t last long”

The football career of Dries Mertens (37) is currently still a priority, but Kat Kerkhofs (36) certainly wants to pursue her own TV career and expand her family.

Kat Kerkhofs will soon be seen in Over the ocean and also wants to fully pursue her own TV career. Or at least as soon as her footballing husband Dries Mertens can slow down. “But you can never be sure with Dries,” she says in an interview with Dag Allemaal. Football life taught her not to worry too much about the future, “because that makes no sense”. Although that does not mean that Kerkhofs does not have his own dreams and ambitions. “As soon as I’m fully back, the idea is to fly in.”

Family expansion is also planned. “Dries and I have always said that we want more than one child. But combined with living abroad and my work, it is not that simple. There is not much haste yet, we have consciously taken our time to enjoy Ciro. But it certainly won’t last long.”
