In , GRDF is targeting 25% green gas in the networks in 2030

In the region, GRDF unveiled a new decarbonization plan aimed at aligning its actions with the objectives of the agreement. This is based on three main axes: accelerating the development of renewable gases, reducing the carbon footprint of the region’s 534,000 customers and decarbonizing the company’s activities.

While GRDF intends to increase the share of green gas in its networks to 20% by 2030, its Breton division intends to go even further. During a press point organized on September 23, GRDF Bretagne revealed its new strategic roadmap, announcing a target of 25% green gas injected into the networks by 2030.

Currently, the Brittany region has 90 methanizers dedicated to the injection of green gas into the networks, representing an installed capacity of more than 1 TWh/year, or around 6% of the territory’s consumption. Thanks to new processes such as pyrogasification and hydrothermal gasification, GRDF plans to increase this capacity to 4.6 TWh/year by the end of the decade.

Decarbonization of the fleet thanks to bioNGV

Reducing the company’s own greenhouse gas emissions by half is another lever of GRDF’s action plan in Brittany. In addition to integrating environmental criteria into its future purchases, the company also intends to increase its fleet of vehicles running on natural gas. To date, 30% of the company’s fleet already runs on BioNGV.

Reduce customer consumption

The final priority for GRDF in Brittany is to support customers in reducing their gas consumption. Energy efficiency measures, installation of efficient equipment and increased use of green gases are put in place. In Brittany, 27,200 customers experiencing overconsumption were identified, of whom 1,400 agreed to be supported. The latter saw their consumption drop by more than 14%.

A key player in gas, GRDF is convinced of the economic and ecological advantages of NGV (Natural Vehicle Gas) and in particular of its 100% renewable version, bioNGV.
