GUEST RTL – Murder of Philippine: “French justice is at fault”, believes Sébastien Chenu

The funeral of Philippine, 19 ans, were held on Friday September 27 at Cathedral, a week after a murder which aroused emotion.

The Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau notably called for a evolution of the “legal arsenal” after the arrest in Switzerland of the murder suspect, a Moroccan national under an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF). The body of the student at the University of -Dauphine was found buried not far from this campus, in the de Boulogne, in western Paris, during an organized search. A judicial investigation for rape and homicide was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office.

This Sunday, on the set of Grand Jury RTL – Le Figaro – M6 – Public SenateSébastien Chenu condemned the “terrible controversies conveyed by La insoumise (LFI) which, at the time of the minute of silence for this young woman, disrupted with songs, cries […] Isn’t she a respectable Filipina? Because she didn’t refuse to comply? Because he is a less interesting victim than the others? Is there no empathy to be had for a young woman like that?“.

For the deputy from the North and vice-president of the National Rally, “that says a lot about the state of mind of this extreme left (LFI is not classified on the extreme left of the political spectrum by the Council of ‘State, the highest administrative jurisdiction) and its inability to take into account the suffering of part of our country“.
In this case, Sébastien Chenu spoke of “a lot of blind spots which show that justice in our country has failed. French justice is at fault“. The suspect “was released from his administrative detention center by a decision of the judge of freedoms, without the prosecution appealing”, he continues. He believes that politicians must “talk again about the OQTF”, as well as about “the ability to stay in an administrative detention center for longer than 90 days”, before reaffirming the link between immigration and security.

He then believes that the law on immigration must be tightened. According to him, a person who entered French territory irregularly should not have “a single chance of [se] regularize”. “You will have the right to nothing: no housing, no social assistance”he said.

Sébastien Chenu then affirms that we must “go much further”. “Today we need to know how we acquire French nationality, how we stay on our territory, for how long,” he explains. He wants “put pressure” and start a “showdown with the States”.

And to put pressure on these countries not wanting to take back immigrants, the RN deputy proposes several solutions, including review development aid or increase taxes. “This standoff is diplomatic and not only that, it is also economic,” he judged.
