The Union wins against Kortrijk and returns to victory, Ivanovic opens his account (3-0)

The start of the match lacked rhythm despite sterile possession from Sébastien Pocognoli’s men. And while they are lacking in efficiency this season, the Unionists take advantage of their very first opportunity to open the score. A good surface fox, Fuseini is at the finish following good work from Castro-Montes on the right to score his third goal of the season.

In the process, Sadiki is close to doubling the lead but the midfielder misses his left shot after good work from Ivanovic. The Croatian, very enterprising this Sunday, then created two chances but the score remained 1-0 at halftime.

At the start of the second period, the Unionists quickly made the break following an autogoal from Silva, who accidentally deflected the leather into his goal while trying to intercept a cross from Ivanovic.

The same Ivanovic is close to opening his account with his new club to kill all the suspense but, after a nice catch, he sees…. Silva pushes the ball back onto the line.

A goal which ended up falling a quarter of an hour from time. At the base of the action, the Croatian serves Terho in the area, who puts it back in time.

The Saint-Gillois thus sign a victory which will do good. USG will host Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday, before traveling to Bruges three days later to challenge the Belgian champions. As for the Courtraisiens, they are in a dangerous fourteenth place after a disappointing 8/27.
