Concretely, the recalled product has the code GTIN 20024444. Its minimum durability date (MBD) is on September 25, 2024. An indication that you can find on the white insert at the front of the package.

Furthermore, this recall does not concern all Lidl beets. In fact, only those sold between April 8 and September 20, 2024 are concerned.

The reason for recalling this product

Obviously, there is a reason why these beets were recalled. In fact, the latter contain a chemical contaminant known as perchlorates.

Mostly it is found in soils as well as irrigation water. As a result, it can be present in the foods we consume.

Certainly, this contaminant does not accumulate with the human body. But if consumption is repetitive, it could have a negative effect on your health.
