An accident involving two vehicles occurred Sunday morning on Highway 30 near Candiac, on the South Shore of Montreal. One person lost his life in the accident while another is in critical condition.
The highway was initially closed in both directions for an investigation by authorities. Traffic has since resumed in the east direction, but remains closed in the west direction. it is possible to take a detour via Highway 930 and Highway 15.

The collision took place a little after 4 a.m. Sunday, according to the information officer for the Sûreté du Québec, Élizabeth Marquis-Guy.
Emergency services were called to a head-to-head collision involving two vehicles at kilometer 56 in the west span
she explains.
One of the two people involved was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition. The other person, a woman in her forties, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
A police officer trained in collision investigation from the Sûreté du Québec is currently on site to clarify the causes and circumstances surrounding this collision.
