Frenchman’s injury results in victory for Renato Moicano

hosted another UFC event this Saturday (29) in 2024. The main fight of the night brought together two lightweight athletes, one of them the Brazilian Renato Moicano, who faced the Frenchman Benoit Saint-Denis.,

The Brazilian, who is experiencing a rise in Ultimate and popularity on social media, managed to achieve yet another victory within the organization. But in a somewhat anticlimactic way, with an injury to the Frenchman prematurely ending the fight

The fight

And, in what he demonstrated in the octagon set up at the Accor Arena, the so-called ‘Money Moicano’ deserved the victory by his own means. At the beginning of the fight, he took down Saint-Denis and, on top, did not spare the Frenchman from elbows that caused a cut on ‘BSD’s eyebrow, which would be crucial for the subsequent end of the fight.

The Brazilian dominated the first round, leaving no room for any reaction from the Frenchman during the first part of the fight; In the second round, the one who started better was Saint-Denis, who had a better defensive performance in the Brazilian’s takedown attempts, holding back the latter’s momentum in taking the fight to the ground.

Standing up, Saint-Denis behaved better than Moicano, even with the cut getting worse. Finishing the second half well, the Frenchman had to be examined by the medical team present at the arena, who determined that the injury would incapacitate ‘BSD’ from continuing in the fight, thus giving the Brazilian victory by technical knockout who, after the fight, took the opportunity to show the personality that has been winning fans and made his next challenges in the UFC.

– I want easy money. Paddy Pimblett is easy money, so is Dan Hooker. Don’t give me shit fights. Don’t come at me with guys who are thick-skinned. I want easy fights. I beat a guy that everyone talked about, but now, the guy today is me – said Moicano

Two more representatives from Brazil were in action at UFC Paris, but both were not as lucky as Renato Moicano. Joanderson Tubarão was on a five-fight win streak against William Gomis and delivered a complicated fight for the Frenchman. In several moments of the fight, especially when he tried to finish in the first rounds, but Gomis managed to overcome Jpanderson in some moments and came out with the victory.

Seeking a positive sequence in Ultimate, Gabriel Fly faced Morgan Charrière and tried to take the fight to the cage from the beginning, but suffered in the first round due to the local fighter’s falls.
