Miss 2024 at the election of Miss Centre-Val de in : “I am going to resume my mathematics studies”

While she will preside over the election of Miss Centre-Val de , this Sunday September 29 at the exhibition center in , Ève Gilles, Miss 2024, is thinking about her future. Confidences of his projects exclusively.

Ève Gilles is already looking forward to walking the red carpet at the Dreux exhibition center on Sunday, September 29, in the afternoon. Miss France will attend the beauty contest where 18 candidates will parade vying for the title of Miss Centre-Val de Loire. This title will be the passport to compete in the Miss France election, broadcast in prime time on TF1, on Saturday December 14, at the Arena Futuroscope in .

What do you remember from your participation in the regional elections organized throughout recent months?
I discovered people with a great diversity of backgrounds, profiles and personalities. The discussions were fruitful.

How do you manage your notoriety?
Everything happened pretty quickly. I had never experienced this before, but I was able to adapt very well to my new role. The Miss France experience allowed me to mature, I learned a lot. On myself and on others. I can only grow. Miss France is a beautiful school of life, whether you win the crown or not. Thanks to competitions in the departments and regions, the candidates have developed skills. For example, they have overcome their shyness and are ready to do things they never thought they would. This development is quite magnificent!

Do you have received a lot of love letters?
Like all the misses!

“I think I managed to make myself known as Eve Gilles and no longer as “Miss with Short Hair””

What were the most memorable encounters?
All the encounters are memorable. There are so many! Afterwards, there remain special memories like those of these little girls with stars in their eyes when they saw Miss France. Or these young women who, dreaming of being in my place, already have everything to succeed. They are already on the adventure. It’s beautiful to see all this!

Miss France highlights the regions, with their terroirs, their cultures, their traditions.
This France is beautiful, welcoming. I wouldn’t leave this country where I grew up for anything in the world.

At the beginning of your reign, you declared that you “only wanted to be known” for the Miss with Short Hair. Has this objective been achieved?
I think I managed to make myself known as Eve Gilles and no longer as “Miss with Short Hair”. In any case, I must lead this “fight” even beyond the Miss France year. The people I met quickly understood that I was not just a haircut…

“I plan to slowly return to the path of studying mathematics”

After Miss France, will it be the resumption of your mathematics studies, as you recently announced?
I plan to slowly get back on this path, even if I know it will be difficult at first. Because I want to try the Miss Universe competition. But I haven’t lost sight of getting my mathematician diploma. I aspire to work in the field of numbers and statistics. And be able to better understand and analyze the world.

Many Misses have remained in the media (radio, TV, etc.). Doesn’t that tempt you?
I’m not excluding him and I’m not closing any doors. I will be able to seize opportunities while completing my studies. For example, Marine Ltemporel* is now a doctor while regularly speaking in the media.

You’ve said that gluttony is one of your guilty pleasures. What are your favorite dishes?
I remain greedy and I don’t follow a special diet. I would be incapable of respecting him! I like to snack too much. My favorite dishes? Tartiflette in winter and tuna curry in summer. It is a Creole dish based on tuna, garnished with tomatoes in particular. I know how to cook, but this year, Miss France, I’m not often in my apartment. So, I don’t go too far.

Fashion week with the candidates for Miss Centre-Val de Loire

“The ‘Be beautiful and shut up’ part hasn’t existed for a very long time!”

Miss France now displays her attachment to feminism, in direct link with changing mentalities. Are you satisfied with this development or should the competition go further?
I am satisfied with the values developed by the competition. This development dates back several years, in direct connection with society. For example, the regulations have evolved, there is not much left. Just two rules: you only need to be 1.70 m tall to introduce yourself and have your female identity mentioned on your identity card. There are also plenty of miss competitions where every profile of women can find themselves.

Is the “be beautiful and shut up” part really ancient history?
That side hasn’t existed for a long, long time. In fact, Miss France has always had strength and voice.

The candidates for the Miss Centre-Val de Loire election

We saw you carrying the Olympic flame. How did you experience this “enchanted parenthesis”?
Being at the heart of the meetings, I experienced extraordinary moments. I had the chance to carry the Olympic flame and attend meetings. I love the atmosphere of the Olympics and the Paralympics. It’s the same effect as Miss France: we forget everything and we all come together.

Do you particularly enjoy certain disciplines?
I like horse riding, athletics or basketball. All the athletes inspired me with their strength. The Paralympics gave me a real slap in the face, as the athletes were as determined as the able-bodied. Their exploits captivated as much as those of the Olympics. The public was also there.

We feel very fulfilled.
I feel very good. I look forward to bringing projects to fruition this year and in 2025.
