A tempting first Lake Geneva derby, Yverdon under pressure

The eighth day of the Super League sees Servette FC and Lausanne face off in Geneva (6 p.m.). The Grenat are favorites but Ludovic Magnin’s men have a great victory against Yverdon.

With a double from Alvyn Sanches (3-1 final score), LS ended a series of five matches without a victory last weekend. For its part, Servette was slowed down by Grasshopper (2-2) but remained in a very strong leading group. Five teams are in fact within one point after seven league matches.

A victory for Lausanne (8th, 7 points), which has not won since 2021 in Geneva, would allow the Vaudois to return to the first part of the table. Servette (5th, 13 points), which only has the championship to play after its elimination from the Swiss Cup, must maintain the pace of its opponents at the top of the ranking.
