Like every year at this time, the release of the latest opus of EA Sports’ football simulation is highly anticipated. A year after abandoning its legendary name following the end of the partnership with FIFA, EA FC 25 returns for the second time under its new identity with renewed content and marked by the appearance of a new game mode inspired by Gerard Piqué’s Kings League: Rush. And Le 10 Sport tested this new opus.

Always called FIFA by fans of the series, the most famous football simulation is back! Since Friday September 27, EA Sports FC 25 is available to everyone. Renamed last year following the excessive demands of the world football body, EA FC 25 returns for the second year under its new name, but still maintains a very large number of licenses with 19,000 athletes spread across more than 700 teams and more than 30 leagues, playing in more than 120 real stadiums. And this year, the Bollaert Stadium will also be available to all RC fans! And that’s not all since this year, AI was used to model a record number of players. This allows the vast majority of players to Ligue 1 to have their real faces in the game.

Rush, the big new feature in EA FC 25

However, the real novelty of this new opus is the appearance of a completely new game mode: Rush. Largely inspired by the Kings League created by Gerard Piqué and which has been widely talked about in recent months, Rush offers the possibility of competing in 5-on-5 matches by controlling only one player on your team. No offside, no red card after a second yellow, a blue card synonymous with expulsion for one minute and penalties taken from midfield, this new mode of play is therefore a revolution. In Ultimate Teamthe flagship mode ofEA FCthe matches Rush allow us to collect rewards to improve our teams. So this is not trivial.

A new tactical feature

This is also one of the rare new features of the mode Ultimate Teamwhich however remains as complete as ever. Note, however, the addition of a new, more precise system for the creation of personal tactics thanks to the FC IQ. Thus, each player has roles which will influence their way of playing with three types of levels: Base, Role+ and Role++. This makes it possible to offer more precise tactics, which will delight football fans. But for those who are less keen on tactics and don’t want to worry about how to line up their team, a very practical feature has been added. It will indeed be possible to share your tactics with other players using a simple code. No need to rack your brains to copy the tactics of the best specialists in the game. Another little new feature in this UT 25 the addition of playstyles for goalkeepers, whereas they were previously only available for outfield players. Finally, the evolution system, one of the flagship additions on EA FC 24has obviously been preserved with the possibility of personalizing its advanced cards.

The players who have improved the most

Like every year, one of the great curiosities at the release of an opus ofEA Sports FCthese are the players’ notes and their evolution. And this year, the big winner is undoubtedly Cole Palmer. Author of a magnificent season Chelseathe English international benefits from a monstrous +19 to bring his overall rating to 85. There are also two other English internationals who complete the podium. Adam Wharton et Kobbie Mainoo both see their rating jump by 15 points to reach 78 and 77 respectively. Other revelations from last season also have nice increases likeArtem Dovbyk (84; +14) or even Savinho (82; +12). The two scorers Victor Root (84 ; +9) et Victor Boniface (82; +8) also find themselves with very interesting cards. On the French side, we can note the good progress for the goalkeeper Guillaume Remains (78; +9) and the Monaco crack Maghnes Akliouche (76 ; +8).

No gameplay revolution for EA FC 25

In conclusion, yes EA FC 24 had marked a turning point with the FIFA era, particularly in terms of gameplay, this new opus, the second of the era EA SPORTS FCdecided to take a new path. No revolution in gameplay, but the appearance of a new game mode which risks being one of the attractions ofEA FC 25 : Rush. This format, which is inspired by the Kings League is clearly the big novelty of this year and offers the possibility of playing a player in a 5 against 5 team. A game mode which will also integrate Ultimate Team which, conversely, has seen very little evolution except for the tactical system, which is more advanced than in the past. But there is no doubt that this new opus will please fans of the series who were able to discover EA FC 25 since its release this Friday, September 27.
