The raid continues for para-Cycling at the Zurich Worlds. After the gold of Le Rousseau by Mathieu Bosredon or even Florian Bouziani – and so on – it was Alexandre Léauté’s turn to climb to the highest step of the podium in Switzerland this Friday during the World Championships.
Three days after having had to settle for silver in the time trial, the Frenchman was the first to cross the finish during the C2 category road race. Escaped in the company of the Briton Matthew Robertson after the third lap of the ten circuit planned on the program, the 23-year-old rider managed to let go of him to give him 48 seconds on the line.
Two medals in two races
On the clock on Tuesday, the reigning Paralympic and world champion missed gold by just twenty seconds, beaten by the Belgian Ewoud Vromant. The latter must this time be satisfied with bronze, 8 minutes behind his rival.
Alexandre Léauté has so far accumulated two medals in two races in line with his excellent Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At the beginning of September, he left with four medals, including two gold. So summer continues.
