L1: sinks to

6th day of Ligue 1

Abbé-Deschamps Stadium

beats : 3 to 0

Goals: Owusu (26th), Jubal (37th sp), Traoré (59th) for AJA

Four days before its trip to Salzburg in the Champions League, Stade Brestois took a good beating against Auxerre, who won for the second time this season.

It was under downpours that the 6th day of Ligue 1 began, the European calendar having required the LFP to schedule two matches this Friday and therefore an advanced match at 7 p.m. between AJA and Stade Brestois. After winning against Sturm Graz in C1, then against last weekend, the Breton team hoped to continue this good series, but the return to earth was brutal. Because on the Auxerre side we had every intention of taking points against Brest, and after a long round of observation, it was logical that Osuwa opened the scoring for the Burgundians (1-0, 26th). Under the watch of Guy Roux, AJA doubled the lead thanks to a penalty converted by (Jubal (2-0.37).

After the break, the promoted side made the score even worse with a goal from Traoré (3-0, 59th), the situation became tense for the Finisterians, who tried to reduce the score without really showing themselves to be very dangerous, which had the gift for annoying a very gloomy Eric Roy. And Gabriel Osho was not far from scoring a fourth goal, Bizot being saved by his crossbar (78th), just like the Auxerre goalkeeper was following a superb gesture from Baldé (90th + 4). The score remained there, which allowed AJ Auxerre to leave the red zone and reach 12th place in Ligue 1 just ahead of their evening opponent. As for Stade Brestois, we will have to quickly get our heads back on track before Tuesday evening’s match in Salzburg in the Champions League.
