League 1 | 6th day | rediscovers the taste of victory against (3-0)

End of the black series for the AJA. While they remained on four consecutive defeats in the championship, Christophe Pélissier’s men raised their heads at Abbé-Deschamps, easily overcoming apathetic Brestois (3-0). The Bretons are preparing very poorly for their trip to Salzburg on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Sixteenth at the start of this 6th day, the Auxerrois needed points and did not do it by half measures, controlling the match from start to finish. Through aggressive pressing, Hamed Traoré’s partners asphyxiated visitors cowering in their camp.

He was “the Abbot of songs”

Although in difficulty on set pieces, a recurring problem since the start of the season, the locals struck first. Taking advantage of a ball pushed by Sinayoko after a duel won with Chardonnet, Owusu opened the scoring shortly before the half-hour mark, winning his duel with Bizot (1-0, 26th).

Determined not to relive the same scenario as against (3rd day) or that in last week, where the AJA opened the scoring before losing, the Abbé-Deschamps public continued to push his men. Effective support, since barely ten minutes later, captain Jubal converted a penalty obtained by the inevitable Sinayoko (2-0, 37th).

If the break seemed made at the break, the promoted team continued to press in the second period, still disrupting ’s recovery while continuing to create a few situations, despite the pouring rain. Taking advantage of a Chardonnet not in his best evening, Traoré went for his goal on the hour mark. With a subtle controlled control then a strike between the goalkeeper’s legs, the Ivorian international put an end to all suspense (3-0, 59th).

Brest will have to get up quickly

If the Bretons, deprived of Eric Roy on the edge of the pitch, suspended, tried to react by injecting new blood, they never managed to worry Donovan Léon, multiplying long shots without consistency. Only Mama Baldé, who entered half an hour earlier, almost saved the honor with a superb acrobatic return ending on the crossbar (90th + 3).

On arrival, got its first clean sheet of the season and temporarily left the red zone (3-0). For their part, the Brestois are stagnating in the second part of the ranking and have still not won away this season. A statistic which they will wish to remedy from Tuesday, with a trip to Austria on the pitch of Salzburg which could, if successful, (already) bring them closer to the Champions League play-offs.
