In numerical superiority, Charleroi lets two points slip away in added time against Bruges (1-1)

In terms of team compositions, Rik De Mil fielded the same team as in the last two matches. Opposite, despite the two defeats suffered, Nicky Hayen also had confidence in the same basic eleven which will have to combine defensive efficiency with the good things demonstrated offensively.

Used dominantly a 1st mi-temps

As expected, it was Bruges who had the ball at the start of the match but Charleroi did not refuse the game with a pleasant start to the match. In terms of chances, there was nothing to report in the first quarter of an hour except for a rebound by Dragsnes that was blocked while it was heading in the right direction.

It was enough to say it to see a superb collective action on the right flank with Tzolis who served Nilsson perfectly but the Swede was unable to regain the ball. On the Sporting side, there were some interesting sequences but they lacked the precision in the last gesture to open the counter in terms of opportunities.

It was said that the danger would come from the feet of Tzolis, with a shot as beautiful as it was powerful and a very good save from Koné to prevent the opening of the score. Bruges’ domination was confirmed with Vanaken present on a delivery from the Greek but the ball was stopped again by an intractable Koné during this first act.

It was time for half-time to arrive for the Zebras with a new dangerous situation orchestrated by Skov Olsen and Seys but the latter could not get on target. If a team deserved to lead, it was Bruges even the goalless draw was not usurped when returning to the locker room.

Charleroi forgot to kill the match

Charleroi resumed the second half in the best possible way. Bernier crossed from his right flank at the near post for Guiagon and his sublime flat-footed shot lobbed Mignolet for the opener (1-0, 49th). In the process, the match turned sour for Bruges since Mr. Verboomen severely excluded Onyedika for a strong tackle on Guiagon.

Rik de Mil’s men were in control but the 10 valiant Bruges players proved, notably via De Cuyper, that they could indeed come back in this match. The Flandrian pressure increased and Nicky Hayen, despite the inferiority of his team, was bold with the rise of Vermant to pass 4-3-2.

In the opposite camp, Giuiagon, untenable this Friday, went close to 2-0 but Mignolet was on the way to prevent him from finishing. The match was indecisive and we felt that both teams could score at the end of the match. Dabbagh notably had the break at the end of the left foot but Mignolet was imperial to keep his team in the match.

In the opposite camp, Mechele hit the post at the end of a game of pinball, proof that luck is definitely not on the side of the Blauw en Zwart at the moment. In the end it was only a postponement since Vanaken, present on the second ball, shot Koné to restore equality in added time (1-1, 90+1).

The score remained there with Carolos who will regret not having killed the match. For Bruges, this is a good point taken in view of the circumstances.
