SC and Mafouta overthrow

Although off to a bad start, SC was able to count on the self-sacrifice and cunning of Louis Mafouta to defeat and sign a fourth victory at home (2-1), this Friday on the occasion of the 7th day of Ligue 2 .

Penalties to save Amiens

Failing to make a difference in the game, Leautey being notably defeated three times by Mpasi (29′, 36′, 43′), Amiens was entitled to two penalties – the first of which was hotly contested by Rodez – to maintain his invincibility at home. On the first, Mafouta was smart enough to seek contact with Laurent. The second was in no way questionable, Vandenabeele missing his tackle at the edge of six meters.

Each time, the penalty was the same with Mafouta shaking the opposing nets (1-1, 71′; 2-1, 83′). The Central African international got his team out of trouble, Rodez having quite logically opened the scoring through Nkada, who took advantage of a missed intervention by Jaouab to deceive Gurtner with a small dive ball (1-0 , 30′). Before that, Galves had smashed the crossbar with a blocked half-volley in passing (18′), while Mambo and Vandenabeele could not find the target after taking the best in the air (3′, 6′).

But by rethinking that to maintain this precious advantage, against an Amiens team also boosted by the entries into play of Corchia and Kaiboue, Rodez folded at the end of the match against a Picardy team which thus continued its flawless performance at home and therefore concludes this week with three matches in the best possible way.

The match film:

3′ Mambo cuts Galves’ free kick, but does not find the target

4′ Lutin looks for Mafouta in depth, but his ball hits the heels of the Amiens attacker.

5′ Younoussa hits the first shot of the match with a volley lacking power and easily captured by Gurtner.

6′ Galves places his free kick inside six meters, Vandenabeele rises in the air but does not target his uncrossed header.

11′ After a good build up on the left side, Vita crosses back for Kandil who gets ahead of his defender but doesn’t hit the target. In the process, Mafouta recovers a poor recovery from the Mpasi-Vandenabeele duo and crosses for Kandil who thinks to score in the empty goal. Vandenabeele returns to push back on his line.

12′ Mafouta’s free kick goes over the top.

13′ Fofana intervenes perfectly to prevent Nkada from appearing alone against Gurtner. Corner. On this one, the Ruthenois still win the aerial duel, but without succeeding in getting on target.

17′ Taken at the start, Bakayoko returns to tackle Nkada in his own penalty area while avoiding the foul.

18′ Galves’ volley crashes into Gurtner’s bar after another great collective action built on the left side and finalized on the right.

29′ Jaouab looks for Leautey behind the defense. The Amiens right piston overtakes his opponent and falls on Mpasi.

30′ Jaouab misses his intervention and lets Baldé run towards the goal. The latter finds Nkada who steals his ball in front of Gurtner who comes out to meet him (1-0).

33′ Cadiou is still looking for Nkada behind Fofana, the Malian international intervenes with the tip of his foot and pushes the ball to Gurtner who intervenes just before Nkada.

36′ Kandil and Leautey combine well at the entrance to the area, the latter presents himself alone against Mpasi, who bursts very quickly at his feet.

41′ Vandenabeele throws himself at Mafouta’s feet to recount the latter’s sudden strike.

43′ Leautey loses a third duel against Mpasi who lies down to repel his shot.

50′ Mambo wins his aerial duel but sends his header over the crossbar.

51′ After a double one-two with Lutin, Kandil curls his shot at the foot of the post. Mpasi relaxes again.

65′ Good long shot from Kaïboue, captured in two stages by Mpasi.

69′ Mafouta goes to the duel with Laurent and obtains a penalty for a contact considered too light by the Ruthenois.

71′ Mafouta transforms the penalty that he himself sought by hitting hard full axis (1-1).

74′ Good shot from Leautey who dives under the bar. Mpasi snaps for a corner.

76′ Corchia volleys a poorly headed ball. A Ruthenian foot averts the danger at the last minute.

83′ Vandenabeele has difficulty controlling his tackle in the middle of the penalty area and catches Mafouta. The Amiens number 9 wins his second duel with Mpasi who can only brush the ball (2-1).
