But as soon as he arrives in Guerche-sur-Isoire, the ghosts of his adolescent past inevitably resurface: mourning, harassment, hidden love for a boy, today the main defendant in the trial which brings him back in his footsteps. On a well-marked diagram (the novel and the series Sharp Objectsin particular), the episodes unfold jumbled stories where the points of reference fade, the dialogues go into a tailspin. And where a gallery of characters as strange as they are well constructed in their quest for recognition or oblivion. Starting with Adam, to whom Schneider offers the features of a soul emptied of its vital force. Sometimes uneven in its ambition, the series dares an original perspective on the power of memories and the drama of unfulfillment.
