In , 2,500 cleaning kits distributed by Leclerc to clean nature throughout the weekend

On September 27, 28 and 29, the 27th edition of Operation Clean Up Nature will take place. In , it is the city’s students who will get the ball rolling this Friday, while the Leclerc brand will distribute more than 2,500 collection kits.

This Friday, September 27, more than 200 students from schools in the city of Carcassonne will participate in collecting waste on the Île de la Cité as part of the Clean Up Nature operation, which is celebrating its 27th edition this year. At the same time, throughout the day, 750 students will clean the surroundings of their schools.

Numerous activities, organized by the City and Covaldem 11 in partnership with the tourist office and the LPO, around the environment will also be on the program this Saturday, September 28 in the Païchérou leisure area, from 10 a.m. . On the menu: discovery of insects, bat shelter construction workshop, tasting of garden insects, or even a tree discovery workshop. Participants will also be asked to clean the surroundings of the site.

For the occasion, the Leclerc brand, which launched the Clean Up Nature operation in 1997, will distribute a total of 2,500 waste collection kits including a pair of gloves, a chasuble and a trash bag. Every year since its launch, this initiative has brought together thousands of people across who wish to participate in preserving the environment. Last year, at the national level, it brought together 560,000 volunteers who collected 180 tonnes of waste.
