Liverpool and Arsenal qualify for the League Cup

Arsenal and Liverpool have booked their place in the fourth round of the League Cup after resounding victories in their respective matches.

Arsenal beat Bolton 5-1 with a largely overhauled squad. The young Ethan Nwaneri, aged 17, was one of the great revelations of the evening, scoring a double. Raheem Sterling, meanwhile, scored his first goal in the colors of the Gunners.
