30th Anniversary PS5 Pro Already Selling for a Huge Price on eBay

With the launch of pre-orders, the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition has been snapped up, with many scalpers involved.

The PS5 is once again the victim of “scalpers”, these individuals buying products to resell them at a higher price later by betting on shortages. They were not mistaken: the console, whose pre-orders were launched this Thursday, September 26 for the 30th anniversary edition, was a great success and, already, the collector’s console is no longer available on the Playstation website.

Offered in just 12,300 copies and in the colors of the first Playstation, this PS5 Pro is now selling for a fortune on classified ad sites. On eBay, they are very numerous, and especially particularly expensive.

More than 3,000 euros for a collector’s PS5 Pro

A simple search shows that this pack, normally sold for 1,099 euros with a PS5 Pro, a Dualsense controller, a Blu-ray player and a Dualsense Edge controller, is selling for more than 3,000 euros, or even 4,050 euros on eBay.

The controllers are not spared either, since we find the classic Dualsense at around 210 euros, compared to 80 euros normally.

“Let’s laugh, but that’s the reality, the real problem,” says YouTuber Conkerax ironically, “how to screw over real players, who have loved the brand since its 30th anniversary, and want to celebrate it properly, it’s still beautiful.”

When the PS5 was launched in 2020, and for several months, Sony had to deal with the same phenomenon due to a severe lack of stock. Some consoles were then trading at more than 800 euros.

On this pre-sale, and while the PS5 Pro will not be available until November 7, Sony had tried to stem the problem by limiting the number of orders per customer. It was clearly not enough.

It is strongly advised not to fall for these ads which may turn out to be scams. Since the console is not available, unscrupulous sellers may take advantage of the craze to try to scam fans.
