Manchester United offered €100m to Barça for Ansu Fati

If FC Barcelona fans today only have eyes for Lamine Yamal, all eyes were for a while on Ansu Fati. The player born in 2002 revealed himself under the orders of Ernesto Valverde during the 2019 season. He notably distinguished himself against Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium (Milan) in the Champions League. His good performances allowed him to come second in the 2020 Golden Boy, just behind Erling Haaland. But they also caught the eye of some big European clubs, such as Manchester United.

According to The Athleticthe Mancunian club even offered 100 million euros to the Blaugranas, in the summer of 2020, to secure the services of Fati, aged only 18 at the time. A proposal refused by Barça, who were counting on him. Since then, the young striker has accumulated injuries and was sent on loan to Brighton, during the 2023-2024 season. Back in Barcelona this season, he is slowly entering Hansi Flick’s plans.
