Spain midfielder Rodri is suffering from a knee ligament injury sustained in Sunday’s Premier League matchday 5 clash against Arsenal, his club Manchester City confirmed on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old travelled to Spain to see a specialist this week after initial tests in Manchester, Man City said in a statement.
Without setting a deadline for the player’s recovery, the club indicates that “The evaluation continues to determine the extent of the injury and the prognosis.”
His coach Pep Guardiola said after Tuesday’s English League Cup victory over Watford that he would be sidelined for a long time.
“There is no definitive diagnosis yet, but he will be out for a long time.”the Spanish manager had indicated.
