FC – Olivier Pantaloni after (0-1): “It’s the first time I’ve seen the team at this level and in such a state”

The FC had a very difficult evening on the FC pitch (0-1) this Tuesday evening during the 6th day of Ligue 2 with a defeat and a match played largely at 10 against 11 after Talbi was sent off. After the match, the coach Olivier Pants shared his great disappointment with the journalists present at the press conference.

“It was a logical defeat at first and a big disappointment because I didn’t recognize my team. We completely missed out on this match, we got eaten up in all the duels. It was difficult to do anything. Technically, we were very poor. Defensively, in terms of the block, it was a match without from start to finish for us. It’s a big disappointment, I expected much better after ’s performance (1-1). Pau is a typical Ligue 2 team, which has principles, which plays together, determined to get a result. We weren’t able to oppose anything to this team and we made it easy for them. We certainly had a chance at the start of the match but it wasn’t enough. Even in terms of investment, the players were next to each other but there was no revolt. It’s quite surprising, it’s the first time I’ve seen the team at this level and in such a state. We talked to the players as much as we could, but we got the feeling that there was no awareness, no revolt. At least try to win some duels… Nothing over the whole match. We have a strong and quality squad. I’m fielding 7 players who hadn’t played much in the last match, so I was expecting more freshness against Pau in order to get some rhythm. That’s where the disappointment comes from. Maybe I’m being a bit harsh when I’m in the thick of it, but I think we had much better things to do…”
